Primarily, we serve one another and our city through Missional Communities that meet weekly in our homes. Together we are able to accomplish much more than we could in isolation. With solidarity of purpose we encourage one another, share in our victories, and grow in Christ. Besides, it’s fun!
We believe that it’s not necessary to create a number of programs in order to go about God’s work in Lawrenceville. Our Missional Communities are encouraged to partner with local organizations that are already serving our city and county well.
While we minister in many ways and places, New City Church has a definite warm spot in our hearts for Richards Middle School. So much more than just a facility where we meet on Sundays, we consider the faculty and administration partners with us as we serve students and their families within our community.
In Scripture we are called to be missionaries. This does not only mean we are meant to travel to foreign nations. Indeed, there is a particular focus in Scripture on being missional with those who are right in our midst. At New City Church we desire to be intentional with our neighbors, particularly the widow, the fatherless, and the refugee. Click the links below to learn more.
We all find ourselves in genuine need from time to time. God desires for us to be interdependent with him and his Church. Maybe the need arises from circumstances beyond our control; or maybe it is a result of our own poor choices – whatever the reason, reaching our to our church family is usually the best first step.
If you have a need, we encourage you to talk to your Missional Community leaders. It is truly amazing to see what the body of Christ is able to do when we work together. Your group leaders can help you discern if the need should be communicated to the whole group.
Occasionally, needs arise that are beyond the ability of a Missional Community to handle on their own. Your group leader can help you reach out to the Benevolence Committee to see if there is any way that New City Church can be of assistance.
